UPDATE - Dec. 2
We thought it would be valuable to share this update with our families on the status of provincial labour negotiations with respect to JMCCSA.

Bargaining between the province and unions representing education workers has been underway since the 2018/19 school year.  Contracts expired in August, 2019 and are currently being bargained, as outlined in legislation, between the province, unions, and the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA), which represents public school boards at the provincial table.

Teachers at the JMCCSA are members of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO). As part of the bargaining process detailed above, all ETFO teachers have been in a legal job action position as of Monday, November 25, 2019.  On that date, across the province, ETFO began to implement a Phase 1: Work to Rule. Please note that ETFO has determined that teachers in Section 68 School Authorities are exempt from any job action at this time.

Depending on the progress of provincial negotiations, the current exempt status of JMCC School may change. We will provide any new information to families as quickly as possible.  Please check the school website at http://school.jmccentre.ca for all labour relations updates.
