PA Day February 14th, 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians

This is a reminder that your child will not be attending school on Friday, February 14th as we are having a Ministry of Education approved PA Day. This day is aligned with our coterminous school boards in the Windsor-Essex region. 

The following is an outline of what our staff will be participating in on our PA Day. 

Length: Full Day – Mental Health

Topic 1: Title: Learning to Flourish at Work: Engaging in Effective Interpersonal Communication and Understanding Work-Life Balance

• Part One - Engaging in Effective Interpersonal Communication
  • Staff will explore effective interpersonal communication, especially within teams as it is pivotal to professional and personal success and meeting the needs of our students. Staff will examine barriers that can prevent effective communication, strategies to break down those barriers and how to cope with things outside of individual control. Educators will work through identified challenges to take action towards improvement. 
• Part Two - Understanding Work-Life Balance
  •  In this interactive workshop, school staff will learn different perspectives on balance, and how to look at work and life more holistically. Staff will examine models for success, review real-life case studies and participate in reflective activities to help them achieve a more harmonious life.
